The San Antonio 99s


The first step in becoming a member of the San Antonio Chapter of the 99s is to become a member of the International Organization of The Ninety-Nines, Inc.   The Ninety-Nines, Inc. is divided into "Sections" that are divided into "Chapters".   The membership in the 99s is opened to any female who holds a Recreational, Sport or higher grade pilot certificate or is a rated military pilot in similar aircraft or holds equivalent pilot certificates and ratings issued by the appropriate government authority.   Any women who holds a student pilot certificate or equivalent pilot certificate issued by an appropriate government authority is elegiable to join as a student pilot member.   Currently it costs $65 to join the international organization of The Ninety-Nines, Inc. or $35 to join as an Student Pilot member.   Yearly renewal is $65 and $35 respectively.   Please go to the website of the The Ninety - Nines, Inc. for more information and an application.   A completed application is mailed to The Ninety-Nines, Inc., 4300 Amelia Earhart Drive, Suite A, Oklahoma City, OK, 73159 along with copies of the appropriate pilot information and money.

The San Antonio Chapter of the 99s is a member of the South Central Section, and the South Central Section is made up of chapters in eight states, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.   The dues for the San Antonio Chapter of the 99s are $12 yearly.   Our fiscal year is from June 1st through May 31st of the following year.   The dues will be prorated depending on the month you join.   Chapter dues are due in June of each year, and International Ninety-Nine dues are renewed each year in the month you joined.

If you are currently a member of The Ninety-Nines, Inc. and wish to join our chapter and would like to transfer your current chapter membership to the San Antonio chapter please email our membership chairman at luv2fly@gvtc.com about joining.   If you are transfering your chapter membership please notify 99s' headquarters that you are transfering to the San Antonio Chapter.

Our meetings are usually held on the second Saturday of each month starting at 10:00 in the morning.   The location varies with each meeting, and next location is usually decided at the meeting.   Members not present are notified by newsletter or phone.

We welcome all interested female pilots and student pilots.   We offer you camaraderie and friendship.   We especially would like to encourage all you student pilots to join us.   We are a great support group; we have been there, done that, and made all the mistakes.   It gives us great pleasure to encourage all you student pilots, both young and old.
